Weaving a sparkly leaf tally combining the threads coming in from two plaits (8 bobbins) adding a pair of thread. A work along video as I make this leaf tally using Gutermann Sparkly thread for the worker. Two pairs join and have to be hidden inside this leaf tally. I end the sparkly thread on this leaf tally because I only want to make one in this colour. I don't use the magic thread to hide the ends with sparkly thread because it tends to grab on it's way back up into the leaf so chose to use a knot at the end. This is one way I make this, there are other methods. Where two plaits cross, it doesn't always have to be a cloth stitch crossing!
This method also works for the standard two pair tally, or if needed, for even more than the two plaits I used. The more threads involved, the thicker the tip and toe will be, so be careful with the tensioning of the sparkly thread, it can only be stretched so far and it will snap.
There are other makes of sparkly threads, I tend to use this one because it is widely available where I am in the UK.
